This volume compiles archival texts, contemporary interviews, and reminiscences by dozen of associates, critics, friends, and family, including Billy Copley, Madison Cox, Jane Holzer, Dorothée Lalanne, Jean-Philippe Lalanne, Peter Marino, James Metcalf, John Russell, and Yves Saint Laurent; and includes copious documentation of key exhibitions, including the 2015 Paul Kasmin Gallery career-survey; seldom-seen drawings and public-art proposals by the couple; photos from the Lalanne family archives; and images of the Lalannes in their home/studio in Ury, France. Editor Adrian Dannatt also conducted a revealing new interview with Claude Lalanne for the catalogue, assessing the artists' five-decade collaboration.
